Right now I'm homesick for the feeling of reading the New York Times on Saturday morning. I miss the cab rides through midtown and the dates and the late nights getting plastered.
It's getting cold and dark early. I'm already starting to count down until the end of the dark months. It seems like I should be counting down to the beginning of the dark months. Again, I feel like I've completely missed summer.

I've been considering abandoning this blog, seeing that I haven't blogged anything for a month. But, I've been 'experiencing technical difficulties' (ie. no phone or internet access for since July). Oh my god! That makes me panic when I think about how long I've been disconnected from the rest of the world.
Hopefully, tomorrow the Deutsche Telcom gods will decide to connect the phone line in my new place. Say a prayer!

what a crazy bunch of workshoppers! there's the wealthy texan workshop junkie, a super shy high school kid on scholarship, a recent gay art grad from wisconsin, a real estate agent from cali (or was it houston?), a motherly type from missouri, a retired stock broker from new york who keep talking about his studio in the city, a retired physicist/architect, a hanging mobile artist...

A few days of spam has changed my belief that spam subject lines are randomly generated. Now I believe that there are many poor poets who sit at desks and write subject lines...

the funny thing about ridiculous mondays is that i can't stop the frenetic pace once i'm on a roll. getting stuck in rush hour traffic makes me feel really grown up. and turning onto my street behind the * * i dated for almost a year, his "ex-girlfriend" in the backseat, makes my adrenaline level and heart rate soar. did he not notice my light flashing greeting, or did he pretend not to notice? what a fucking waste of time. the instant asparagas cream soup i bought for ridiculous mondays is soothing.

bill bryson pisses me off. it is absolutely disgusting the way he portrays america and americans to the brits. i mean, i complain about the usa all the time, but i don't write and sell books to the british dissing my own country. he should be ashamed of himself for telling europeans that the u.s. actually is as bad as their stereotypes portray it. as an american living abroad one would think that he'd have some compassion on the others in his situation. now i know who to blame for the fact that i often hear, "oh, but you're not very american." i'm sorry, my american flag t-shirt is in the laundry and my huge ass is taking a day off.

everytime i have time for blogging i can't remember what i wanted to write. it's when i'm almost asleep and to tired to get up that i think of the most amazing things to write.
it's wierd how i suddenly go from being excited about my very full life, to feeling crap about the emptiness of my non-linear life. i'm confused because concrete linear lives are really boring to me, but looking at an intangible scattered life feels like chasing a soap bubble, catching it and ending up with nothing.
